NFC integration: what’s in a name?
Chances are you’ve already come into contact with NFC technology, maybe without even realizing it. Have you ever paid at a store using your smartphone with Google or Apple Pay? Or used a festival wristband to make payments at events? Then you’ve already used NFC technology. At some hotels, you can even unlock your room using just your smartphone—this, too, is powered by NFC.
From now on, every finished Inside product will be equipped with NFC technology. This allows your customer to scan their curtains with their smartphone to access detailed product information, such as information about your sales point, fabric composition, finishing details, and even washing instructions. In other words, your customer will always have all the details about their purchased product at their fingertips – even years later.
How does it work?
A small chip is embedded at the bottom right of each product, which can be scanned using your smartphone. It’s somewhat similar to a QR code, but you don’t need your phone’s camera. The chip is read through an NFC scanner that’s built into your smartphone. Typically, this scanner is located at the top of the device, near the camera.
Most modern smartphones support NFC technology. For Android phones, you may need to enable the NFC function manually through the settings. On iPhones, the NFC function is enabled by default, but it only activates when another NFC chip comes within 10 centimeters of your phone.
At Inside, all orders placed from September 2024 onward are equipped with an NFC-tag. Whether they are drapes, roman shades, roller shades, panel curtains or wood blinds.
